I find the ports in front pretty convenient for playing rock band. And I prefer the wired controller because I like the way it feels without the battery pack, and if the conections were in the back it probably won't reach my couch anymore.

I would have to say it makes complete sense from a product stand point. As someone mentioned Natal is coming and in addition to that... nothing reinvigorates a products appeal (and sales) like a redesign as opposed to the re-skinnings we see all the time. Maybe it will come with a price drop too, like the PS3's did? No matter though I still won't buy one.

If you look closely there's still a number of headers that may or may not be used for riser boards with additional ports on them. also, there's still 2 usb ports on the front, just the memory card slots have been removed (which is fine i think since aren't they integrating at least 256mb of memory on the board nowadays for saved games anyhow?)

Ya I heard that there will be a slim 360. Funny how these will be the longest lasting consoles yet still keeping up with computer graphics for the most part.

If you think consoles are keeping up with computer graphics, then it's time for a trip to the ophthalmologist. Unless you think that upscaled 640p qualifies as HD gaming...

Have you played some of the latest games? They still look dam good and no I didn't say better but are still pretty good. We should be at double crysis graphics by now.

Like this still looks dam good....

These all look pretty good. Not Crysis good but still in the top best looking games.

The first two are pre-rendered at a higher resolution than the actual console can do. And all of the screenshots are pretty lacking compared to PC games. Low geometry detail, low-resolution textures, lack of bump/normal/parallax mapping on surfaces, not fully dynamic lighting, etc.

I know they don't have a lot of the stuff that PC games have but they do tricks to make them look good still though. You can't argue that uncharted 2 doesn't look good on a 42" 1080P t.v.
