Default HIS HD2900 Pro Reviewed @ Tweaktown!!

We finally get an English-language review of this limited edition product!! Looks like this is the new winner in the price / performance war.

From Tweaktown:

WOW! What will NVIDIA do now? The HD 2900 PRO is a power house and is simply going to be the card to own in this price bracket. Hopefully the NVIDIA driver team is hard at work creating a new driver that will help boost the performance of the 8800GTS but you have to wonder just how much more performance there is in it.

FYI, this card is available for pre-order at NCIX.com: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...anufacture=HIS

BUT GET THEM QUICK!!! Our contacts at NCIX have told us there will be a VERY limited supply.

That price is AMAZING!!!! As a HD2900 owner, let me tell everyone this. These cards perform FAR better than given credit for. And in my personal opinion, the image quality is still better with ATI. I have owned 8800GTS's and this HD2900 and to me, the ATI card is definitely the winner.

Wow!!!!!

Of course it's only one review, and the min FPS in DX10 gaming is troubling. (To me... average or top FPS doesn't mean much if it slows to a crawl during the heavy load times when you need it to work well).

Hopefully this "limited" run will be extended once they see how popular it can be.

This is really the price point that I'd be looking for in a card. Anything above $250 is a bit rich for my blood.

Default great value

Looks like they'll be making some money now and moving some product in a key area. I bet this card overclocks great too.

This is the truth right here. If you want one you better jump FAST! They are gonna sell sooooooo quick at this price. For me, if I see a $400-450 1GB XT I am jumping as well. Come on price drops..........

Don't feel bad. I could have bought 2 of these for $100 more than what I paid for my card.
