Default AMD:Bulldozer & Bobcat Defined - Anandtech

Oh baby, this can't come soon enough:

A major focus is going to be improving on one of AMDs biggest weaknesses today: heavily threaded performance. Intel addresses it with Hyper Threading, AMD is throwing a bit more hardware at the problem. The dual integer clusters you may have heard of are the route AMD is taking...

After reading through it again and googling some of the terms used, this seems to be a much more highly effective alternative to Hyperthreading. However, its still only a dream for 2011. But these are the first diagrams concerning what the actual architecture might look like. Awsome, I say! Hopefully AMD will be able to release this sooner, thanks to all the money Intel gave them out of guilt.

Interesting enough, assuming AMD can keep things together until then. Maybe Intel's donation will make sure of it.

I'm pretty sure I'm set on the processor side of things for some time now, so maybe something like this will make up my next rig.

I used AMD processors for quite some time (my Q6600 was the first Intel chip for me in years. I was AMD from Thunderbird up to the 6400 Black Ed I had).

Here's to them fighting on!
