Everyone was quoting the [H] review yesterday, and it was really the only doom and gloom one- seemed a little harsh.

Well, AMD has no excuse for the 2900XT's performance. With all the delays and what not, this thing should have kicked the 8800GTX's ass.

We even overheard one conversation where someone jokingly remarked that AMD should design hardware but leave the execution to NVIDIA.
