EVGA 650i Ultra review by [H]

This is one of those boards that has been hailed as one of the latest "best-Value" enthusiasts boards, and while the reviewers laud is as a great board, I don't call a 430FSB anything to write home about (not bad either though since some 680i users still can't top 450). Can't say much for the institutional green color either. I'd be more interested in seeing how the results come in from the DFI Infinity 965-s Dark Motherboard- waiting for sswilson's reviews of his experiences with this board and his e6420!

It's good to finally see some budget priced decent overclocking S775 boards.

Prior to finding the dfi board I had been starting to research 965 & 650i boards as they were closer to my budget.

Now that the tweaked 965 & 650i ultra boards are starting to hit the market we should start seeing a lot more folks take the plunge rather than getting sticker shock when looking at the total cost of a good OC board + DDR2 (now surprising inexpensive as well).

Should be interesting times on the C2D Overclocking front.

That boards dam fugly and it doesn't look like it has great passive cooling either

The DFI I'm getting also has passive cooling.

That's been questioned several times, but so far it doesn't appear that third party cooling is required to hit high FSBs with it.
