Default RAM upgrade

so i'm thinking about upgrading my ram, currently i have a Gigabyte P35-DS3L motherboard and 2GB of DDR2-800 Corsair ram And im thinking about upgrading to 2GB of Corsair Dominator Ram

1) would this be a smart upgrade
2) does the ram work with my motherboard
3) what major improvements would i see

Thanks

By upgrading, are you going to keep the current 2GB set? If not, then there's no point in upgrading.

You can always sell your current 2GB and get a 4GB kit instead.

1. no.
2. yes.
3. none.

Sell the 2Gb, buy 4 Gb. Or keep the 2 Gb as a back-up. That's it.

No because Nehalem will be as crazy as hell when it's released. Wait at least like a year or so for the prices to drop to make the upgrade/new computer worthwhile. That's my opinion though.

buy 4gb of Mushkin Ascents or Redline and sell your Corsair or use it for a backup system. Going from 2GB to 2GB will yield at most a possible better overclock if you're even doing that. Might as well get something bigger and badder (and more useful) - Cheers!

i would also consider the G.Skill ram kits as they are awesome for the price to performance ratio.
