I was sorta in the same boat, I just swapped 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix 8500's for 2x 2GB Mushkin Ascent 8500 less then an hour ago. I just straight swapped them. Didn't have to even reset the mem timings or anything... yet. It primed for 20 mins without erroring (i'll leave it longer when I'm not at work and can babysit) - so all in all I'm digging the Mushkins.

We have a Mushkin rep on the forums here and will soon have a Corsair one as well so it would be a win-win situation IMO.

I got some Dominators from Zlojack and they are pretty darn solid. Swapped out my Gskill 1000MHZ and I get better stability at 1800FSB (Ram at 1066 stock timings and voltage) The Gskill didnt like that Divider for some reason.

I have had Corsair Dominators (8888 gold that I won, and had to RMA), and am now using Mushkin. Corsair has great support in the Ram Guy forums but Mushkin Greg is excellent. You just find the product forum on NCIX with your system specs, and he will give you the settings for your setup. very quick too (I think it took him 5-10mins to answer one of my posts once).

I don't know but everytime I see or hear the word Mushkin it reminds me of those small treats you eat at Dunkin' Donuts (think they are called munchkins or something :D)

Anyways, my preference has been with Corsair, never had any issues, they are well designed and overclock very well!

Maybe if Mushkin Greg can convince me otherwise then I might give it a try ;)

The first time I saw Greg's name on the forum, I read it as Mush King Reg, thought he was a dog sled driver from the Yukon. It was very late at night. I still chuckle every time I see a post from him.
