It happens, its much like all of us here who get burned by a company. We just don't support them anymore. Thats my stance with OCZ....

I would get either Corsair, Kingston or G.Skill, in that order. Then, it's easier to add RAM later because those brands are usually widely available.

NCIX overclocked systems use mostly Mushkin black lines, very reliable and easy to work with!

I personally love the Kingston HyperX RAM, that stuff always works and without fail.

I have to agree with Brian on this. I love Kingston and they have never failed me once. That being said, I have heard very nice things about Mushkin.

I notice no-one mentioning samsung or patriot.. Any particular reason?

My preference would be mushkin/gskill then kingston then corsair/OCZ..
I was thinking of trying out some patriot stuff but with prices being so low across the board and knowing gskill I'm sticking with them for my brothers build

Mushkin heatspreaders are not designed well, shifting up and down. RAM itself is OK. Got their redlines. Works fine but overclocked so-so.

i noticed the same issue with the heatspreaders on my blacklines the other day. I had to use a flathead screwdriver to push down on the PCB of the modules otherwise the spreader would slide down and the ram would't insert properly into the dimm.
