Grrrrr......

Extended timings aren't doing much..... I can get about 1020 out of them, but extended timings don't seem to be getting me anything beyond that......

Put in a call to customer support to see if they've got a list of recommended timings, but if I don't get any joy, they'll be going back, tight timings @ 1:1 or not.

No joy so far on the DFI board. Won't post over 1000 no matter how loose I set the timings. :(

Gonna try swapping them into the giga board sometime over the next couple of days to see if it's just a motherboard/chipset thing, but if that doesn't do it, back they go..........

Nothing will make them jump the fence? Nothing? I have to believe you, since you know how to play with sticks...

They don't post over 1000mhz using all four 1gb sticks or even 1 kit at a time?

They won't even post over 1000 using a single stick let alone dual channel!!!!!

Something is definately up... I'm going to try them on the DQ6 today to see if there is some wierd chipset thing going on with the P965-S. DFI boards have been known to be picky about ram in the past, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time a particular set of memory didn't like to work with a specific motherboard.

I just find it exceedingly strange that they run fine up to 1000, and then hit a brick wall no matter what I do.

I'm betting the chipset is holding you back. Mine run extremely well (look at my sig) with my P35 DFI board.

Could be a divider/ratio issue too, still related to the chipset.

Nope, exact same behaviour on the DQ6. Seem perfectly fine up to 1000, but no joy after that.

I did manage to get them to boot into windows @ 1066 with the cpu at stock, but they errored within a minute of prime.

I've taken them as high as 2.3V trying to get them stable but I'm not willing to push beyond that trying to get what's supposed to be stock speeds out of them.

Top it all off.... one of the clips fell off of my ballistix when I was putting them back in so now I've got to try to dig it out of the case..... :(

I'm going to test each stick individually on the off chance that I've got 1 bum stick in each set. (Once I find that clip of course..... :) ).

Ok, so the saga continues....... :)

While doing individual testing I've discovered that these sticks don't like high freqs in the blue slots of the DFI board, but run fine (dual channel) in the white slots.

Still testing the second set in dual channel, but as soon as that's done I'm going to play with 4 sticks to see if the board will pick up the blue slots based on what settings are working on the white slots.

I'm looking at the "Channel 1&2 CLK Fine Delay" setting as the possible culprit.
