Cool Mushkin Redline PC2 DDR2 8000 Series

Hi all,
Just curious, has anyone had any compatibility issues using the 2 x 2GB Mushkin Redline PC2 DDR2 8000 @ 1000Mhz 5-5-5-12 Memory (Part# 996593) along with the Evga 780i Motherboard?
I just purchased this and according to the Mushkin Web Site compatibility Thread , there is a few that have used this Part# with the Evga 780i Board, but would like soem comments by those that have or know of those that have used this configuration.

Thanks

I dont have that board personally but some of the other testers do and there are no compatibility issues that I'm aware of.

I have a set of that ram.2x512 MB

My asus striker sure didn't like it (680i) but I think that was more the northbridge's problem.

My striker ended up eating it.I just got it back from a 3 month rma.

Good ram but really pricey.

I dont see any reason you should have any issues.

The price wasn't bad considering 4GB (2x2GB sticks). $129.99
Seems that NCIX and Direct Canada have a problem stocking it and of course once stocked, its gone!
Also, a little pricier through NCIX as well.

Hope it performs as good as its reviews state and all is well with this Evga 780i Board.

oooof......I got bent over the barrel then....
..

I bought mine a year ago (2x 512 mb)......I paid 380 $ for it..

Current prices I have for : 2x512 : 260$
................................... 2x1Gb : 430$

It's still the most expensive ram at my local store......( memory express , calgary ) ....thats odd.

This is what I found and it was quite difficult finding any available locally "Vancouver area".
Cannot beat the $6 Shipping, don't really care if it takes a week or so to get here either, no hurry as nothing wrong with my 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer, but I want to go to 4GB and want to stick to occupying 2 slots.

Check it out

Cheers

Mushkin redline extreme ddr2 8000 ?

Diff sizes, yes , same ram tho.

edit :

You are totally right.I just double checked.

Mines the xp2 (4-5-4-11 @1000Mhz) not the 5-5-5-12 stuff.

Nice catch sir !
I knew something was up....hehe

Eldonko,
Is not the stuff I ordered the same Memory you provided the review for?
this is the same Memory for sale at NCIX and DC (however not available).
seemed odd that it is advertised (including your review) as XP PC2, when in fact on the Mushkin Web Site it is simply PC2 and doesn't refer to XP?
Whats the deal?

Thanks

Yes it is the same - Part# 996593. :) Dunno why they say PC2 on the site, it is XP2-8000 Redline. Keep in mind that XP2 Redline is the top line above regular XP2.
