Best Ram Combination

Im currently running a computer with
Core i7 950
6 GB of 9-9-9-24 Corsair Ram.

I am looking to upping my current amount of ram to 12GB.

Is it better to buy two packs of
Corsair XMS3 CMX6GX3M3C1600C7 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 7-8-7-20 1T Core i7 Memory Kit - Corsair - CMX6GX3M3C1600C7

or to buy one pack of 6GB of triple channel ram?

I'm using all the ram for numerous VM's and I keep running out with just 6GB.

What speed is your current RAM, what model of Corsair is it?

buy a 12gb set id you gonna buy 2 sets of 6gb:whistle:

you can always go 18gb if need be

Ram is currently running at 1600 MHz. On the Ram sticks the model number is TR3X6G1600C9.

any Z77 asus, msi (gd-65) or even gigabyte motherboard coupled with a 2x4GB kit of DDR3-1600 ram @ 9-9-9-24 or smaller timings is what you want. Gskill, corsair, kingston, are a good choice of ram.
