Default 172 pin DDR RAM

I inherited a Fujitsu Lifebook P7010 that uses 172 pin micro-DIMM. I'm wondering how common are these modules since it only have 256MB of memory and I want to upgrade to 2GB if I can find it. Amazon is listing around $50 / GB right now.

It should actually be SO-DIMM not micro and you'll want to check and see if it can actually be upgraded to 2gb.

It's not 200 pin SO-DIMM. I double check the specs and opened up the case. It's DDR1 u-DIMM.

How many slots in the Lifebook?

There are some 1GB uDIMMs on Amazon now for under $30 which seems fairly cheap for older RAM.

Amazon.com: Mushkin 991130 DDR1 UDIMM 1GB PC3200 Unbuff 3-3-3-8 None 2.6V: Electronics

Unbuffered 2GB DDR1 uDIMMs seem rare to non-existent.

Nope that's not the one. It looks something like this:

Amazon.com: 512MB Memory for Fujitsu Lifebook P Series P7010 P7010D Micro-Dimm PC2700 Upgrade: Electronics

There's 2 slots in the Lifebook and supports up to 2GB. I'll try my luck at FreeGeek Vancouver otherwise I may have to find a copy of XP or switch to Ubuntu, which I don't want to.
