which memory to get for my i7 2600k rig
 

hello im building a new rig with a i7 2600k + Asus P8Z68-V PRO Z68
atm i have some ddr3 ocz but i want to upgrade to 8 gig and wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of what decent ram to get. im mostly using the rig for gaming if that helps

Any DDR3 ram would be fine. If you want to get that Noctua cooler you will want to get some low profile ram...anything that doesn't have big heatspreaders on it to avoid fitting conflicts. Got the 4x4gb kit but decent ram, LP for clearance and 1.5v for sandy.

Pretty much same kit as Perry listed but with spreaders.

Gaming? Cheapest kit you can find with heat-spreaders.

ye good point mate about putting them into a new build thread. and your right about the heat spreaders the ones i have on the ddr3 atm are high so im sure there would be conflict

i think irl be going down the lines of this kit then dont mind payin the extra, do they do better or would that be all i would need
