Midterm season is upon me, but when I get a chance I will play around and let you know what I get out of this!

These modules stink. Took a break from studying and tried to push these guys. Even up to +0.4v and they still don't want to run at 6-6-6-15, 1020mhz!!

I wish there was something in between 2.5x and 3.0x, so I could at least get into the 900mhz's. I don't feel like using a lower multi and higher fsb on my cpu just to get my memory to go a little faster. So now they are running at 4-4-4-12, 850mhz

any suggestions on some good ram? hehe

Also, what's the deal with not being able to change from 2T to 1T? I thought I could since I am running 2 sticks. Maybe it's my bios (and probably worth being asked in a different thread).

From what I know Gigabyte boards don't allow to change the 1T / 2T. Even Memset won't allow it on a Giga board. As for your sticks, what's the tRFC? 38, 42? Have you tried 52? Loosening the tRFC always helped me reach higher ram frequencies.

Yep, memset cannot set it to 1T (just tried). That is ridiculous that it cannot be set, but you live, you learn right.

It seems I was running with tRFC of...wait for it...you better be sitting...this is what it was set to in the bios...0. So immediately I thought "ahhh, this must be it!"

Even as high as 62, on 5-5-5-18, 2.3v, I still could not get it to boot at 1020mhz.

So, 4-4-4-12, 2.1v, tRFC of 42, at 850mhz. Man these reapers stink.

**EDIT: Checked in Everest, apparently at +0.3v in my Giga bios, my ram is at 2.0v (I hate that the bios does not tell you the actual voltage, but only the over voltage). Does anyone know if this is reliable? ie: if I go to +0.5v, will my ram be at 2.2v, or does the +0.5v run from the standard ram 1.8v and give me 2.3v instead? I do not know much about the accuracy of Everest's RAM voltage readings...**

I never really liked the Reapers... loosen still the timings, 6-5-5-20-52 2T.

As for Everest, I don't know. I have it on one of my rigs - I'll check it out. As for trying out 2.3V, try +0.4 (2.2V) first, to see of you have 2.1V in Everest.

My general policy is to treat all software voltage sensors as completely useless. I assume components are getting whatever voltage I've set in the BIOS, and if I have problems with that, I pull out the multimeter.

I've been able to boot to windows with my Crucial Ballistix past 1300 mhz before at 2.2v it didnt stay stable long but if squeetards been running his at 2.3V and what 3.0Charlie said about losening the tRFC works, mabey i could get it stable. I'm pretty impressed with the Ballistics, if your going to get new ram i'd definatly recommend them

My Mushkin EMs and HPs are doing 550MHz @ 2.2V since last monday, for a test under FAH. All sticks are stable since, and the sticks are barely warm to the touch.

Too much voltage will cause instability in memory too and for that memory , over 2.3 is probably too much- I'm sure you've tried it already, but just in case you haven't- try overclocking it at around 2.1-2.2.
