With all the things I run, Windows allocates 2.5-3GB on idle. Firefox hovers around 500-800MB depending on usage, tack on all the random apps ran usually to 500MB. On average, 3.5-4.5GB is common for basic tasks. As soon as I just file joiners/splitters (often), memory usage shoots up to the 7GB range. Photoshop, lol, always in the 7GB range.

The only reason Windows uses so much ram is because of SuperFetch. If an application needs that ram, Windows will give it priority over SuperFetch instantly.
