Oops! Well appears I perhaps made a boo boo last night. Purchased some RAM for a decent price (used) made sure it worked and it did. Then put it in my Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H & 1055t (was at 3.7) now just stock lol :( Anyway the RAM I had in it originally was : Mushkin Blackline 996652B : 7-7-7-20 1.7v (is what the sticker on ram says) RAM I put in with it : Mushkin Blackline 996782 : 7-9-7-24 1.65v (is what the sticker on ram says) This machine was overclocked which I think was my issue :( Perhaps I should have never mixed these in the first place. Anyway hopefully my RMA will be accepted :( Appears only one stick of the 996652B died (as I memtested all sticks except the one) as it won't even with that one stick let me get past the MOTHERBOARD POST SCREEN I see the mobo logo but can't get to bios or anything just freezes completely :( Any thought's suggestions etc are appreciated thanks! |
Well if you can boot up with any of the rest then you've indeed found your problem, but mixing RAM isn't a bad thing, you can mix and match all you want. Overclocking shouldn't have broken anything unless you severely overvolted the RAM. |
