I was looking into increasing my RAM but two issues or dilemmas?
1) cost - $160 for 8GB
2) investing in older technology so regardless of cost, it's DDR2
I want the extra RAM for using virtualization.
I currently have 4GB (2 x 2GB) but it's Mushkin and this brand is hard to find with DDR2 and there's no 4GB sticks.
I thought to sell and then get the 8GB. Newegg has GSkill and sometimes Patriot 8GB kits. Bad idea?
Or should I just forget it? This is not urgent... just pondering the idea. I don't have the cash to do a true upgrade or switch to a new generation just yet. I'd rather upgrade my graphics card first, too, I think?
Am I making any sense?
I bet this topic is boring or been done before but I am sorta wishing I did this way before DDR2 skyrocked in price and the supply came down (resulting in high prices etc.). Oh velll....
