RAM setup & mixture help please Hello all I have a few posts right now and appreciate all the input! This one is concerning my setups and RAM. I'm hoping to put 12GB in the newer mobo I just got that has 6 slots (where as all my others have 3 (foxconn) and 4 (intel/gigabyte) I do believe? Gigabyte EX58-UD3R (4 slots) (not sure if 1.6 or 1.7 to be honest) GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1366 - GA-EX58-UD3R (rev. 1.7)
This machine currently has Gigabyte EX58-UD3R, i7 920 DO and 6GB Mushkin 1600 Triple Channel RAM Part Number : 991659 (998659) Intel DX58SO Intel® Desktop Board DX58SO - Overview

This machine is the one I want to put 12GB in currently has ASUS P6X58D-E, i7 920 DO and 8GB GSKILL RipJaws 1333 which I will have to remove as its 4x2GB Sticks in Triple Channel setup. Part Number : F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH ( I know this has to come out to make room for the other 6 sticks I want to put in) The 3x2GB CORSAIR RAM I have to put in it is : CMX6GX3M3A1333C9 (then just curious which one of the systems above I could mix with it? Or should I really get the exact same stuff? Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions and assistance :) |
Seen quite a few views but no replies not sure if I was being clear. I have 4 machines, each with its own RAM 2 of them have 4 DIMM SLOTS 1 of them has 1 DIMM SLOT 1 of them (newest) has 6 DIMM SLOTS I was hoping to move the RAM I have around so that I can have the one computer maxed out with 12GB of RAM. Will any of these work (paired together) on my : ASUS P6X58D-E ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - ASUS - ASUS P6X58D-E 6GB Mushkin 1600 Triple Channel RAM : Part Number : 991659 (998659) 6GB GSKILL 1600 Triple Channel RAM : Part Number : F3-12800CL9-2GBNQ 6GB OCZ 1600 Triple Channel RAM : Part Number : OCZ3G1600LV6GK 6GB CORSAIR 1333 Triple Channel RAM : Part Number : CMX6GX3M3A1333C9 8GB GSKILL 1333 (in Triple Channel Setup) : Part Number : F3-10666CL7D-4GBR Thank you for any assistance. |
try 1600 rated set together first. will 6 sticks fit. heat spreaders are somtimes to big. not the OCZ. you myght be lucky and your stiks are fine. OCZ RAM has a bad rep right now. run some bench marks like " maxmen " and prime95 see if it crashes ? the coventional wisdom is eather a full set or two identical sets. but yoiu never know unless you try it yourself. you will likely have to push the voltage in bios. try 1.65 V 9-9-9 24 2:8 T2 19 multy 199 QPI Im running 1.337 Vcore but you should be able to do it with less with D0 stepping 1.225 VTT 1.075 ICH Vcore All my voltges should be higher than yours IM on a C0/C! I am running this its 3.79 Mh but with only 6 GB ram To run a custum RAM set Up you will have to play in BIOS Let the Fun Begin  |
Alright folks I got some more RAM lol so here are the questions : 1) What should I keep? 2) What might work together? 3) What should go first (be sold) 6GB Mushkin 1600 Triple Channel RAM : Part Number : 991659 (998659) (3x2GB sticks) 6GB GSKILL 1600 Triple Channel RAM : Part Number : F3-12800CL9-2GBNQ (3x2GB sticks) 6GB CORSAIR 1333 Triple Channel RAM : Part Number : CMX6GX3M3A1333C9 (3x2GB sticks) 8GB GSKILL 1333 (in Triple Channel Setup) : Part Number : F3-10666CL7D-4GBR (4x2GB sticks) 8GB CORSAIR Vengence : Part Number : CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 PK1 (2x4GB sticks ) 8GB Kingstone : Part Number : KVR1333DN9/4G (this is a 2x4GB sticks) |
