Default G.Skill Ripjaws F3-16000CL9D-8GBRM 2x4GB Memory Review Comment Thread

As CPU memory controllers continue to become the bottleneck when it comes to overclocking memory, having modules that can keep up has become increasingly important. G.Skill's Ripjaws modules are currently known as some of the best modules on the market in terms of price and overall performance while offering a good amount of overhead for overclockers...

Thumbs up Good Review.

With DDR3 prices being what they are now, it seems to be as cost effective to grab a 8GB kit instead of another 4GB to double up with. ofc this makes me paranoid and the temp issue from the previous review had me worried. This kit did a fairly decent job of things but like 3of6 I was disappointed in the highs and lows (OCs). I was most unimpressed with the timings achieved on the lower frequency settings.
However this hasn't dissuaded me from grabbing one myself.

nice kit and i too was not very happy with the level of overclock you got outta them considering i have run my 1600@1.5 kit too almost 2000@1.65. still great review thanks 3oh6

i noticed you had this kit running at 1T. i have the 2x2GB 1600MHz 1.6v Ripjaws, and even using the bios to change command rate and upping ram voltage to 1.64v, i can't do it. Can it be done, and if yes, how, and is it even worth it?
