Mushkin Ridgeback PC3-12800 Memory Review Comment Thread

The sub-$150 memory market is thick with products from the likes of Corsair, OCZ, G.Skill, Patriot and so many others. Mushkin is now adding their name to the list with their new Ridgeback series. In this review we take a look at their PC3-12800 4GB kit. Does it have the chops to compete with numerous products which have already entrenched themselves in the market?

nice. good to see more diversity. even though the contact is not quite there, i see its making a difference. would one trying a
'home mod' be more successful in reaching better contact?

Any kind of clip would help, but TBH a fan is all you need

I wonder what the purpose of the notch in the 'fins' is for. Why not continue the pattern?

Branding (logo in there) and it looks cool would be my guess.

I'm loving them as they look better than the blackline kits, as well as the performance too! Awesome job Mushkin :thumb:

I'm surprised they allowed you to open them up and show what IC's they had; or did you guys buy these sticks?

Ah, the good old days of MUSHKIN awesome tech support from MUSHKINGREG. He was on NCIX's forum a lot.

He was the man! Giving everybody that asked him the best RAM settings for their configs. I bought a few sets and never had issues.

It seems that when GREG stopped working as a rep for them, sales dropped dramatically (at least NCIX customers), and Mushkin lost ground....nice to have them back around, but they won't be able to recreate what GREG had going on...

On my next build, I might give Mushkin a try again...who knows.

Love my Mushkins. I have the Blackline and considered the Ridgebacks because of looks. Being a fan towards this manufacturer has never been a concern and would recommend Mushkins to any and everyone. Clearance has never been an issue with any cooler I've seen or used, though these look to be a bit taller than my Blacklines. Great review as always guys!
