Default RAM for Intel DX58SO

Some advice needed please. I'm not sure whether 6gb is enough given a mix use of gaming, music editing etc. I've seen my existing system with 8gb (DDR3 10200) come close to maxing out from time to time. I do not overclock and rely basically on the factory settings. So after researching and keeping price in mind, my choices have been narrowed to:

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) or
Crucial Ballistix 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

The rest of my build will be i7-930 and dual XFX 5770 cards in a cross-fire configuration. Any words of advice?

By chance, I had to make this exact decision just 2 weeks ago.

I was strongly leaning towards the Corsair, but from what I've read using 4 modules on the DX58SO is hit or miss.

Therefore, I went for the Crucial Ballistix. If I find that I need more memory, I'll just buy a single 2GB Ballistix module in the future...and hope that it works.
