Default RAM Question - Buying Tonight (09/26/07) -

Ok so I am putting in the order for my computer system later tonight and I need a little help with what RAM to buy for the system. I had RAM picked out before (Mushkin HP2 2x1GB PC2-6400 CL4 @ $106) but they ran out of stock as of yesterday. Of whats listed below please let me know both 'what is the best RAM' and what you consider ' the best bang for $$'. I had been hoping to spend ~$100 or less. I'm not including rebates cuz I don't trust em, hehe.

OCZ Platinum XTC Rev.2 PC2-6400 2x1GB DDR2-800 CL4 @ $120

Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400 2x1GB DDR2-800 CL5 @ $110

G.Skill F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ PC-6400 2x1GB DDR2-800 CL5 @ $87

Kingston HyperX PC2-6400 2x1GB DDR2-800 CL4 @ $133

Patriot Extreme Performance PC2-6400 2x1GB DDR2-800 CL5 @ $115

Any other suggestions I may have missed are also welcomed.

For the extra $5 I'd go for this patriot set Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB 2X1GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-12 Dual Channel Memory Kit .

No guarantees, but starting from 4-4-4-12 vice 5-5-5-X should give you more headroom for a higher OC at looser timings.

I don't have any personal experience with these sticks so hopefully somebody who does will jump in here.... :)

I was also going to get the same Mushkin Ram. The memory that sswilson was talking about is cheaper at NCIX. currently $74.99 after MIR. $114.99 before MIR.

Try to buy at NCIX for this one. The Patriot ram that sswilson pointed out is $74.99 after a rebate: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...acture=Patriot

They perform pretty well for the money.

I second Mr. Wilson's choice. Best-bang-for-the-buck that I could find too @ DC and NCIX, below 100$.

I third Wilson's choice. The better timings will allow(usually ) for a little more headroom. Pretty much every thing I've read on that ram has been good and oc's well

In fact I am contemplating purchasing this RAM. However the board I want to get (Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L) has a stock mem voltage of 1.8V and memory requires 2.2V
