i have a patriot 2k cas8 hyper set and a set of the ripjaws 2k cas9
ripjaws stable on i5 2200mhz 9-9-9-28-6-122
ripjaws max is 2100 8-8-8-24-6-72
on amd you will max out around 1800-1900mhz no matter what ram you use
best value ripjaws100-110$ patriot 175$

My System Specs

im running 2 x 4gb ripjaw 1600mhz with a 790x chipset adn a phenom 955. Runs perfect 7-7-7-21 , but a little on the warm side though.
