I dropped a line at one of the forums that has an OCZ tech rep asking about the apparent discrepancy between the prices.

Just to update - the Gold is now cheaper- -you can get it for 205!!!! at direct canada.

Didn't hear anything back yet, maybe it's just a glitch in the pricing.

On-line pricing can be OTL sometimes. It could be that they still had old gold stock at an old price and that the new plats came in at a better price.

(Have a look through the cpu prices to see what I mean.... :) ).

change the Asus M2N-E to Asus M2N sli Deluxe and get the OCZ Platinum EL XTC PC2-6400 1GB 2X512 DDR2 CL4-5-4-15 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit or don't change the motherboard and get the OCZ Platinum XTC REV.2 PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-15 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit ?..

as i don't currently use DDR2 i can't comment on ddr2 performance. but if it performs anything like my pc 3500 ddr it will be awesome. go for it
