Default OCZ Blade 3x2GB PC3-17000 CL8 Review Comment Thread

With the recent spat of memory recalls from certain manufacturers, some enthusiast products have been brought under close scrutiny. Luckily, OCZ seems to have been sheltered from the issues and their high end memory kits are still going strong. In this review we take a look at their highest-clocking tri-channel kit: the OCZ Blade PC3-17000. If the ... [ Read full article ]

Along with this review, 3oh6 and I recorded another video on Sunday night, with this RAM as the special guest. We managed to get set up with both a CPU pot and a GPU pot to really get the system roaring. Watch the video as we make this test bench SCREAM 3DMark05 points.

Don't forget that this is also shot in HD. Click the video to go straight to YouTube!

*There are no screenshots this time around because some of them are in the review itself. Don't forget to read that!

Prof. Dr. Silver was supposed to attend as well but unfortunately he was unable to. This score is for you!

Special thanks to OCZ and EVGA for providing these products for benchmarking and writing reviews. Without you many things here wouldn't have happened!

EDIT:Removed some exclamation marks because they're too aggressive at this time of night...

i was thoroughly disappointed in the GPU for the second session with AM3 and 05. in 01 for the 3DMark 01 low clock challenge, the card was benching at 1026MHz through all of 01 with nature at 1080MHz. i was completely expecting 1000MHz for 05, that didn't exactly work out. either way, still a good session and this memory is just a blast to bench with. running from 1100MHz up to almost 1200MHz without so much as thinking about it is great, definitely a fun benching kit for those with good CPU's and good memory controllers.

People are reading but no comments is usually a good thing...that means all the questions were answered in the review. ;)
