Default it wont read all. help.

my ram dont read all.



i have emachines T6212 desktop. it use pc3200. crucial.com says it can mix high density and low density and maximum memory can be installed is 4gb. Computer memory upgrades for eMachines T6212 Desktop/PC from Crucial.com




inventory:
- two 512mb stick
- one 1gb high density stick
- one 1gb stick

my goal is going for 3gig. when i install....




slot 1: 1gb high density
slot 2:
slot 3:
slot 4:
result = it kept on rebooting itself over and over




slot 1: 1gb high density
slot 2: 1gb
slot 3: 512mb
slot 4: 512mb
result = wont boot. made monitor light power button turn orange from green.




slot 1: 1gb high density
slot 2: 1gb
slot 3:
slot 4:
result = wont boot. made monitor light power button turn orange from green.




slot 1: 1gb high density
slot 2: 512mb
slot 3: 1gb
slot 4: 512mb
result = reads only 2gb




slot 1: 1gb high density
slot 2:
slot 3: 1gb
slot 4:
result = reads 2gb




so..... can anyone help??? it dont seems to read right.

I'll take a guess and say that you need a matching 2x512MB kit and a 2x1GB kit.

Better guess is that it in fact does not work with high density.

Considering 2 512s and a 1gb gave him 2gb.

Yup but you probably can't mix high and low :P

Which is what you were trying to do.

Motherboards like your trying to work with can be extremely picky of what memory works and what doesn't.

it also seems that my system only take all 4 slots as dual channel. cause last time i got two 256mb pair and 512mb pair and it read 1.5gig which is correct. now two unpair 1gb and two 512mb pair and it reboot over and over.

my mobo take only dual channel on all 4 slots?
