Not sure what the heck those elites are- apparently they're meant for OEMs, but they run on only 1.8V- I'm not sure if they can handle the volts that the firestix can.

I would go with the firestix to be safe- they are definately good for 1000-1100

anyone familiar with the elites?

Get these instead: NCIX.com - Buy G.SKILL F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ PC2-8000 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-1000 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ In Canada.

Why get only 2GB when you can have 4GB for the same price? Actually, these are cheaper than both those kits.

Ye gods, that was surreal, reading the first post content. I thought this was another NCIX sale crewup.

I couldn't figure out why it was so expensive. I thought "damn I'm far behind, DDR3 has been out for so long DDR2 is in short supply! I should upgrade."
