need new ram

Why do you need such fast memory for? Are you planning on running a really high FSB?

Otherwise memory like PC2-8500 is perfectly fine.

PS: I have some G.Skill PC2-8000 for sale that runs upto 1000mhz ;)

But those kits are 2x1 which will only get you 2gb of memory. So you'd have to spend twice the money to get 4gb where you could spend $80 or less and get a 4gb right out of the gate.

why spend so much money on ram that really doesnt do anything? DDR3 over DDR2 isnt even a 10% Performance increase.... Performance ram is totally unneeded. The only thing that matters when your buying ram is if it will be stopping you from Overclocking your cpu, and the amount of ram. 2x2GB of PC 8500 is more than enough.
If ur fine with RMA's and u really want some higher end ram, id get these: Corsair XMS2 Dominator TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF 4GB 2X2GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Memory Kit - DirectCanada

Other than that dont splurge on the higher end stuff because it really makes no difference.

i would try those except my computer has to be running for Friday for a local lan i am hosting.
