It sucked though because after I had that set @ 4-4-4-12, it worked for another two months and then one of the sticks crapped out, at least the RMA went smoothly.

Will definitely post a worklog once it gets here, another 1-2 weeks :D
Nah, my reasons of disliking OCZ are stupid really. I got nothing against OCZ, honest, I just hate the look of the heat spreaders on their ram so much I wouldn't dare let it grace the insides of my case(dam petty reason, I know ).

Naw, I understand where you're coming from, I'm one of those aesthetic nazi's out to get the best-looking system, without sacrificing functionality. I REFUSE to buy ANY Gigabyte board, or any GPU with stupid graphics/images of sephiroth or whatever on them. eVGA has the idea, as does XFX but to a lesser degree. So far, ASUS, Zotac, BFG, Sapphire, Diamond, and Palit have to get their acts straight...which sucks.

Where are you getting the Dominator Kit for $200 ? Don't really matter, its a done deal! But the cheapest I've seen them is around $280

this is the Kit I'm referring to NCIX.com - Buy Corsair XMS3 Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 8-8-8-24 Core i7 Memory Kit - TR3X6G1600C8D In Canada.

I mean essentially the same RAM, OCZ for me (exactly the same as Corsair only $80 cheaper, and no fat heat spreader).

Well I'm getting a case soon anyway, and won't be putting it together till then. So, once again, SYSTEM IMO! :D

What does IMO mean anyway?

I got my memory 32m pi stable I believe up to 1950 at 9 9 9 20 at 1.68-1.7 volts or something and I have the ocz low voltage platinum 1600 7 7 7 24 kit.

I could do up to 1900 with 8 8 8 20.

As you can see this blows the g skill that was recently reviewed out of the water for overclocking. I however can tell those exactly because my testing wasn't as extensive.

If I tweaked the subtimings and stuff, I could probably do 2000. Or It could be a case with the qpi being over 4000mhz was simply just being unstable.

I probably won't be doing much OCing on these sticks, but if I can get DDR3-1866 on the Gold version of your sticks at 9-9-9-20, 9-9-9-24, or whatever, I'll be pretty happy :D

The Platinums were too expensive, bit overkill for me. I'm a noob when it comes to memory OCing, and I'm decent when it comes to chipset OCing (LGA775), but then again i7 is a new step for me, I don't want to blow some good RAM for a stupid mistake I may make

How DO you OC memory, anyway?
