Noob question: is there a program that tells ram temp?

Nope. I've used a cheap $10 digital indoor/outdoor thermometer... and put the thermistor on the side of the heatspreader. While it won't give you the chips' temps... it's good enough to tell you when/if your RAM is running hotter than usual.

If you don't have heatspreaders, an IR gun could be used. Of course, that approach is kind of self-defeating where temps are concerned. Beyond that, you need to get some kind of sensor up against the chips, which isn't exactly easy, or even possible some times.

Don't worry you aren't alone, I answered the first few, and now I normally just ignore the threads. He should just start a thread saying "GameplayWarrior's special questions" and edit his one post as he decided to add more.

Edit: These are all questions asked by Gameplaywarrior… except for a couple (I think just the sleaving questions) they are all New threads. This list of questions from Gameplaywarrior only goes back as far as October 16, 2008, but trust me the list dates back further….
