Default Crucial redition ram

hello everyone i building a new e4300 system upgrading from a p3 450 an di have a p5b-plus mobo. and i was wonder if i going to do some over clocking to 3 ghz. would these ram chips be able to run in dual channel mode?

should i get 2 of these,

or

That's an amazing price on those single 1 gig chips!!!!

The problem with buying singles is that there is no guarantee you will get 2 sticks binned exactly the same. You might get lucky and they work together like champs, or you might get a pair that hate each other.

For straight up builds without OC an unmatched pair can in most cases be made to work together fairly well.

Once you start OCing though, differences in batches can make getting a stable OC a major PITA, and finding the right settings for a particular OC even harder than normal.

It's possible to do with unmatched pairs, but if your plans include some major OCing you'll make your life a lot simpler if you stick with a pair of matched Dual Channel sticks.

the corsair is 99.99 at NCIX.com on there "Pixel Perfect" sale if i remember correctly.

i dunno about you but 56 bucks in my pocket smells like a nice case of beer with some money left over
