Default Can you help with the value of this laptop

Hi, I am looking at purchasing a used laptop from someone and debating whether or not to purchase new. I know it will be difficult for you to tell me without seeing it but if you could give me a rough idea of what this laptop is worth it would help me make that decision. It is an Asus G74sx. These are the main specs:
Core i7 2630qm
16gb ram
Gtx 560 2gb video card
750gb hard drive
17" led screen 3d ready
No cracks, scrapes or anything. Good battery and charger. Just looking to see if you can give me a rough idea of the value of this machine. Thanks

My System Specs

usually what I do is go to a web site that sells the item and then read through all of the feed back. like say at new egg places like that then you can get a basic feel for its worth

I've been a G series laptop fan for a while since my first one however I haven't buckled down to buy a new one since selling my old G73 last year since everyone has them at really high prices.

To be completely honest I wouldn't pay more than $700-$800 for that laptop. You can find G75's, the higher spec versions (more ram, the 675m etc...) for about $1000-$1100.00. Sadly, like Alienware, the ASUS brand name for the G series seems to have artificially bumped the prices and most people are trying to sell them around $900-$1000.00.

If you're really wanting a laptop keep your eyes open for good sales or browse some of the forums more. I know NCIX had a warehouse sale that had the G75vw for $1100.00 open box. I believe this month they have a new G750 coming out with with Haswell and the 7xx series nvidia gpu's so it should help bring the price of the older ones down a bit more.
