My System Specs

Default Asus Matrix 7970 Platinum

What do you think I could fetch for this Asus Matrix 7970 Platinum? I bought it off of here just this past week. I'm not sure I want to leave team green....LOL.

I'm also about to get a Corsair AX760i back from RMA today. What could I sell this for?

BNIB/Sealed Unit.

I'd say about $340-350 for 7970 since the 770 is out now. $150-160 for the PSU, when on sale it's usually around $170.

I'd say around 300$ for the 7970 seeing as all review items tend to have no warranty so the buy is taking on some potential risk of buying the card and it crapping out.

Oh was it a review unit? Does warranty through serial number not apply for them? If that's true I agree with your price, spending this much money on a high end card with no warranty would make potential buyers more hesitant.

We'll thanks for that. I hope I can still sell after this post.

If it was provided for review by Asus it should have been returned after review. If it was purchased for the HWC review and then sold afterwards to recoup the costs of purchase then the warranty should remain intact.

A serial can be provided to check with Asus.

Card posted in b&s forum.

There's a couple of assumptions made here that are incorrect.

If this is the actual card reviewed, it was given to HWC by Asus. When SKYMTL sells those review cards off, he donates the proceeds to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. And he usually offers to help IF a card dies after he sells it off.

A simple serial number check would provide your answer to whether the card has a warranty and can be RMA'd directly.

Thanks for the clarification. The serial is available if requested.

For anyone wondering. I didn't have any trouble setting up an RMA for the 7970. The card has zero issues so I will cancel it. But it should ease the minds of those worried about warranty.

Then if the card has a warranty through it's serial number by all means I'd bump that price back up to 325$-330$. I just know SOME reviewer items tend to have no warranty from the manufacturer.
