X58 Platform
Please let me know if this seems reasonable:

1. Intel 980X Processor - $565
2. Evga X58 Classified Mobo w NF200 759 LE "AR" - $150
3. Corsair Dominator 1600 Mhz 6 x 2GB (12GB) - $75

Or the whole issue for $ 720

Everything operates top notch and includes original packaging / Accessories.

seen that proc go from 450-700 on here closer to $500
awesome mobo, I would aim closer to $100 on here else were up to $200 as people still like the x58 platform when their old boards die.
ram I would say $50 tops ram is cheap these days

Okay thanks, had a quick "compare" at EBay for the CPU, basically it seems it boils down to how quick you want to sell it.
So looks like I'm in the ball park, will consider reducing:
CPU - $525
Mobo - $125
RAM - $50

or $675 for all buyer pays shipping.

As for the Classy Mobo, I got it when they were first released as a "Step up" and it has been bullet proof, not a single problem with it.

Thanks Soul ;)

980X is an ebay special - $500 plus. On forums, though $350-$400 is about what you can expect to fetch I'm afraid. Ebay goes gaga for any Intel Extreme-series CPU.

Yeah, I'd say closer to 400 is more realistic for the processor. With Haswell around the corner, prices on 1366 used chips will probably fall some more very rapidly. I don't think you'd have a fast sell at 500 (if it sold at all)

^^^ Curious if new release Haswell is Hex Core or Quad Core?

Anyhow, if its too low I'll give it away to my one of my kids !!

Hmmm I thought there was going to be Hexa cores in Haswell, but I only see info on Quad cores and Dual cores. Might be that there isn't any hexa cores in the Haswell series.

From what I understand that is the case (Quad Core), so dont see the big requirement to go from 3770k to 4770k (full PCI-E 3.0 support maybe), I would expect to see next Gen Socket 2011 IB-E with 6 cores / 12 Threads, once again.

Although this 980X maybe a few yrs old now, its still a killer CPU with unlocked multipliers and hits 4.4Ghz on a simple 100i w Cinebench Score of 11.1...not bad for "an old Chip" :thumb:
