E8500 Worth how much?

Looking at selling a parts PC, Not sure what this CPU is worth.

Likely right around $100 I think. E8400 still go for 75 to 90 and the e8600 which are the best of the Wolfedales still manage 120 to 130 or 140. Don't even try and buy a e8700, almost impossible to find and last one I saw for sale was 250+

Well, if used(sounds like it is) I think a fair price would be $75-90, seeing as you can get good quad cores for that same price range, I suppose it comes down to, not what they are currently selling for, but what is currently selling and how good they are, wolfdales are awesome fast chips, still have my E8400 EO in my other system, however, my Phenom II 955BE runs circles around it, even clocked to the same little over 4Ghz mark, it is fast, just not as fast as my Quad. Though still excellent chip. Anyways, $75-$90 I think is fair, at least you can get back some of what you paid for it this way.

you can get a new dual core 1156 chip for about a 100 and they are hyperthreaded dual core and smoke e8400 e8500 and e8600, not a big market for them, as if someone is willing to go old school 775 socket, they would probably be looking at a quad. Not sure to be honest if someone will give you 100 for it. Unless of course they dont know better lol

I would say fair price would be around 75 dollars, anything over that would be a bonus.

75 or so sounds right to me. You could get more but it would likely take a long time to sell.

75 sounds about right. At rfd's there is a e8400 chip and board for 100. Descent board too...
