Intel 980x and Asus R3E

Bought this for my never ending Murdermod build that is held back for the new stuff from Charles and company and considering selling and going for SB-E.

The 980 has box and heatsink and is lightly used. Probably has 2 weeks on it and was OCed to 4.2Ghz just to play with. It is an F batch but not a bad OCer as far as I remember.

The R3E has a Black/Red EK FB block and has only been booted to check to see if it works. I bought one new and it croaked and got a full retail package back and was never put in a case. It will have two of everything except some of the SATA 6Gbps cables.

Just checking to see if it is worth bothering which it is probably not.

Thanks :)

980's are up on ebay for the 6-800 range. I personally think that's high, but that is only because I'd just buy a 970 for less then half that to do the same thing...Hard to say.

As to the motherboard, Maybe 120-150...$120 seems fair as most high end x58's are going for at most that right now.

I was thinking around the $600 range for the Proc.

You thing that is what the board is worth with the block on it?

Ooops, I missed in the OP the EK block. Add ~$50 to the mobo, ~175-200ish.

I'd try and unload the 980 on ebay personally. I dont think you'll find many people on RFD or here that want a 980

Good luck mate.

R3E's are generally around $200 or so. Well that is what I see them put on sale for on most forums. Maybe $250 w/ the block.
