Just curious... what's a 6850 going to do for you that crossfire 5770's can't? I'm pretty sure that would be a downgrade. And the BIOS flash thing is only for the 6950 I believe. I've never heard of it done on the 68xx series. (Although I could be wrong) Just want to make sure you don't get the 68xx series and 69xx series mixed up, as they are VERY different beasts.

I assume power, heat, fan noise, maybe the possibility of adding a second down the road. Dealing with multiple graphics cards as well, although my experience with crossfire has been positive apart from one game that had a problem with 2 bridges connected (whoops silly me :P). He may also want to sell them before they depreciate in value too much more.

About the flashing, although it doesn't unlock shaders, it does increase the voltage, clocks, change fan speed and allow for higher clocks in CCC.

I sold both my 5770's for a total of $185; one was sold for $85 3 months ago and the other for $100 5 months ago. IMO i would only pay up to $70 for a 5770, as yes they are good cards just that there are so many other cards that are even better for less than $15 more. I even sold my GTX 460 768mb for only $115 and i didnt have many offers at that price 6 months ago.

Any chance of buying one on here for $70?

I want to get a new card (well, probably buy used to get a good card for price/performance) but am a bit hesitant to buy a used video card.

I bought one on ebay long ago and it was defective.

I suppose it is ok to buy here especially if they are a regular and have the ratings shown.

I plan to buy next month. I narrowed it down to radeon 5670, 5770 (preferred) and only by some miracle, GTX 460 (768mb). But, if it's an ATI card, I don't want to pay more than $80.

I noticed a couple of 5770s on here but they're asking $100 each.

$100 may sell to some random person on Kijiji who didn't do an internet search other than big box stores, but I would say ask $75-80 if you want to sell on here or to someone who knows computers. As mentioned by someone else a 6850/6870 would be a downgrade from crossfire 5770...IMO

Now, I want a GTX 460.... is it realistic to get one for less than $100?

I would post a WTB but can't afford a $100 card until at least next month.

I guess this is getting off-topic but I don't mind comparing to a 5770 although I'm not sure what level a 460 should be compared with.

I prefer 1gb if possible. Also, would I have to worry about it being overclocked since it probably was, right?

I have a refurbished PNY GTX 470 that I bought from newegg.ca a few months ago. The card is in good working order, and I'd be willing to part ways with it for $120 shipping included.

Just sold this card.

A 470 has considerably higher temps and power, right?

A 460 1gb for about $100 would be ideal.

How realistic is it for any of these cards to come up here for sale in the next few weeks? Ideally, it would be at the end of the month and NOT a SE or the lower clocked ones or whatever mods were done to cripple some of those.
