I'm loving it so far. It's a very early beta, obviously lacking in some areas, UI has issues (eg. a bad SSL problem, where it "looks" like a site does not have SSL if their certificate is invalid but secured). The "skin" is that way, I assume, to maintain OS portability. Hopefully they'll work on this, but it isn't a priority in anyone's book. The developer tools, although preliminary and basic, are AMAZING.

As for the guy complaining about memory, go away. I'm tired of explaining to people that RAM is there to be USED. It's a problem when the browser is using 500MB for 10 tabs of basic web pages. What you shouldbe complaining about is when memory is used inefficiently. Firefox handles memory inefficiently. Windows handles memory (somewhat) inefficiently. Chrome is one of the first pieces of general software that I've seen properly use multithreading (or multiprocessing) and memory.
Excuse me? Nobody was complaining it was simply something I did not like. I don't like seeing my task manager FULL of chrome processes. I'm sure they could thread it so each one is still a process of a main process or something of the nature.

I wouldn't be so quick to jump on Chrome........ read the EULA carefully and then see what you think.

Sean over at PlanetX64 explains it in detail.....

All I got from the article was, if your government wants to spy on you, google has data they can use.
But really, isn't this a prob with the gov that people need to address. Not the fact google is looking to improve search relevance from the new browser.

Remember google was the ones who just sent a nice document about how traffic shaping by bell is an invasion of privacy and is illegal.
Bell's internet throttling illegal, Google says
I know where google stands when it comes to our rights.

For me personally Google have crossed the line with this ,it is a complete invasion of privacy (a sneaky one at that).
Do you really think that if the average joe knew google tracked their movements and basically were spying on them they would be ok with it?
I know where google will be standing also.......Nowhere near any of my systems thats for sure.
Try this - Goto Google and do a search for Google and the RIAA, you get page after page of how google is against the RIAA and how they have fought them, then try the same search on yahoo or Live you will get very different results ,try it and see.

When using the same search with yahoo or live the top result is an answer to a question about RIAA's budget and followed by articles about google giving up information to the gov and RIAA.

see for yourself ;)

Stinks of fish to me!

Didn't you know all your Internet explorer / explorer movements were tracked too, not only that, in hidden files that are not deletable from windows nor viewable from dos.
They track images viewed, urls, name , etc.

See Microsoft's Really Hidden Files - SillyDog701

I don't see how using "search" information that would normally be recorded using google.com anyway is an invasion of privacy at all.

As said , blaming a company for complying with a government, which any company would be forced to do too isn't something to be worried about

Thats an article from 2001, and even then Microsoft are not storing the information on their own servers like Google.

I am not easily convinced by a "beta" elua .
Until I see code proving this information is being sent to google from my pc. Its open source can't be too hard to find.

But since this information google is collecting is the same as that typed in there search engine by me anyway, I don't see a problem.

On a side note, this is the best web browsing experience I've ever had using chrome.

I think its great that you are having a good experiance with Chrome, but I think you missed the point the point of that article. It's not just what you search for its Google tracking browsing habits etc and what they can do with the information they keep.
As it stands in its default settings any information entered into Chrome with Google as the default search engine they will have access to keystrokes typed into the browsers Omnibox even before you strike the enter key!

Like i said before that just does not sit well with me at all and Google are getting to big for their boots.

For the Record i am NOT American and really am not bothered about the US elections but this adds a little fuel to the topic.....

To improve partial searches, common spelling mistakes etc.

I bet I can give you many more things to be paranoid about, much more intrusive things , like microsoft's ability to remove any software from your pc remotely, or install windows updates when auto updates been disabled, without your knowledge.
