![]() To begin with I must say thanks to our member FrenchToast for picking this up!! Newegg on its way to Canada?? Newegg.ca - Coming Soon to a Canadian Computer Monitor Near You in 2008 has launched It seems like Newegg is finally on its way to officially enter the Canadian market with the launch of their .ca domain. We have asked Newegg for comment regarding this and are expecting an official statement from them by next week. Without a doubt this is a boon for Canadian customers as Newegg has always been just a bit too far away with their amazing selection and great prices. Now, instead of being out of our reach it seem like they are on their way into direct competition with the etailers here in Canada. This could lead to a major shakeup of the Canadian retailer scene in the near future. Stay tuned to this thread for more info!!! ![]() DIGG LINK: Digg - Newegg CANADA? Looks like.... this time for REAL Updates: July 25th: Newegg CSR has confirmed that it is indeed a pre-launch site from Newegg. Hope this one was in the USA...she sounded like it though... July 25th:"Unofficial" confirmation that Newegg will be opening their doors in Canada "within the next few months" from one of our supporting manufacturers who wishes to be left anonymous for now. Meh, NCIX and DC prices are a lot of the time better than newegg. And if they don't ship from Canada, no way I would even consider it.

Well from what I heard, it will ship FROM Canada :) This is going to be difficult for DC / NCIX as NewEgg already has a reputation and I'm sure the NewEgg people are aware of NCIX/DC - As far as prices, well I don't know their prices will be any better than DC, we'll just have to wait and see. |

I hope it happens but I guess we will see. They supposedly owned the domain in 2005 and the rep posted that newegg.ca will be live any day now. Three years later it resurfaces. I checked that site daily for a week and got annoyed. Today NCIX is in the same league for prices, egg just has more selection.

Search newegg from Google Canada, the sponsored result is newegg.ca. I think they're serious this time. I will give newegg a try, if I don't like them, I'll gladly go back to NCIX and just price match it. That is if the product is cheaper at newegg. |

| I guess it will be the best time to buy during their opening since they will likely have some promotions to get things going - Given their logistics I don't see how they can be better than DC in terms of prices - DC still looks like a good deal for those who are comfortable with hardware and don'T require immediate tech support. but we'll see. Most people I know in the U.S. order from NewEgg, and before I found out about DC I too wanted to order from NewEgg but they didn't ship to Canada.

I'd rather support the Canadian economy and continue buying mainly from NCIX. They may not have all of the parts I need (black cable sleeving, for example...); but I've survived all those years without Newegg. If I need them special parts I will order from the States (Sidewinders and Performance-PCs most of the time). But that is very rare, and will definitely Pricematch Newegg at NCIX.

Hopefully NCIX will PM, if stuff is shipped from the US they probably won't. Im thinking they will have a Canadian distro though, would be stupid not to.
