Oh and NCIX has been so good to me even if it was cheaper I can still price match and have far better shipping and probably far better customer service.
Don't you guys all find it slightly sad/funny that, that while thinking "it would be great to win that 5000$ spree" we can't think of much to do to our rigs with it

About the only thing I could do really is get a few more hardrives, maybe a velicraptor, and new ram (8 or 16GB total instead of just 4GB )

^^ Agreed. But even if I win, until newegg doesn't research and get better prices, it will be my first and last, the only shopping from newegg, NCIX has been very loyal to me, and now I am going to try DC with DC_Support beside me.

How about an Extreme Core i7 - $1000 bucks
New X58 Mobo highest most expensive as possible - $500
6gb of DDR3 ram at the fastest possible - $500
30" LCD monitor - $1500
Aftermarket cooling - $500
Another 4870 X2 - $500 (by the time i7 it should drop in price)
A fast Vraptor hard drive - $300
$200 on games if newegg sells em

Either that I would spend it on a much cheaper system and then a year later spend it on another system so $2500 on a nehalem system then $2500 on another system a year to a year and a half from now.

How about.. an X58 board for the Core i7, you know X48 wouldn't take that new process right? 8GB of the fastest RAM 2 V Raptor drives.. Hek you got some serious system really. A Quad Feser One Rad, which apparently the best at the moment to cool all that.

I can really see myself digging all that...

I can't see me dropping coin on any top-of-the-line kit. IMO, there's a definate point where your costs almost double for less than 10% performance gains.

That said... there are certain items (like huge LCD screens) where going for broke would be worth it.
