Gentlemen, as I stated before, Newegg is shipping out of the states, and including the customs/brokerage in their prices. So they are doing exactly what TigerDirect does. Until such time as they actually warehouse in Canada, don't expect their prices to be really competitive with our Canadian e-tailers and distributors. While their business model works great in the US, the US and Canadian markets are not the same.

i think its mainly due to exchange rates, the rate is about 7% then when you add in the shipping from the us that explains prices being 10% higher than the american site. Case prices are horrible though, $150 for an antec 900? i just payed $99 regular price at canadacomputers.com. The only thing new egg was really cheaper on was mobos and cpus, and with the price inflation of the canadian site the savings are almost non existant. I dont seem to see manny people talk about canadacomputers but they have great prices, and for anyone in the gta or kingston area they have plenty of stores so you can walk in and buy without worrying about shipping. Also bought a stealthXstream 600w psu for $80 at cc, newegg canadas $20 off SALE price is still $85. G11 $10 cheaper at cc, g9 $20 cheaper at cc, so all this time ive been waiting fer newegg.ca thinking it would be the place to shop id have spent $100 more there in my few purchases.

I've been quite pleased with it. It's low profile even with the feet extended so that might turn a few folks off. The key action is still amazing after more than a year of use (I should dig up that post to see when I actually bought it... probably closer to two years).

Edit: Found the thread Enermax Aurora Keyboard

I'm a big fan of keyboards with "presence" and this one certainly has that... :)

Newegg also has a newer black "mesh" model which would be a perfect match for my Cosmos S. :)

^^ So is that thing really worth $80, it doesn't look all that special, the look of it is just like a normal plain white colored keyboard.

Its the equivalent of a laptop keyboard for a desktop.

And as soon as I have the money I'll be buying one myself.

Well it is manufactured out of high grade aluminum. :)

I think it's worth it, and I've used many different keyboards over the years. Scissors key mechanisms give a much different tactile feel over the standard membrane mechanism. I suppose it's a personal thing, but like a mouse, the keyboard is one of those things we should be spending a few bucks on rather than picking up whatever is cheapest at futureshop that day... :)

Just thought I should show you.

And from their website
Quote:
UPS Standard - Delivery within 5 - 10 business days.
UPS Expedited - Delivery within 4 - 9 business days.
Grand Total:$43.81
NCIX: Price of the drive $31.99, express shipping of $10.

Shipping & Handling:$10.00Shipping Insurance:$0.96Subtotal:$42.95No PST - Outside BC residents:$0.00GST(5%):$2.15YOUR TOTAL: $45.10
CAD So not too bad really. They are few items on newegg that are cheaper.. but the shipping kills, and it doesn't look like they charge any brokerage fee though, unless it is included in the shipping cost, because UPS Ground is $10.98 on NCIX, so really they jacked up the shipping cost including some kind of pricing with it. And it takes awfully long even with regular shipping, even though it is $2.00 cheaper, there you go it is still better to shop at NCIX.

If there are brokerage fees from UPS then that will be a separate bill which is over and above the shipping fees you already paid. Usually they give you that bill when they deliver the goods but I have gotten a bill from them months later.

If they start hitting people with brokerage fees, NewEgg.ca is going to phail miserably.
