I got the same e-mail as gsp as well. Newegg Canada will probably be released by September.

I have been going to newegg.com to read customer reviews. One thing I like about newegg (and tigerdirect.ca) is that it is easier to "zero in" to a product that you are looking for. Also the way newegg.com have product reviews easily accessible is one factor that keeps me coming back to that site.

For some reason, Canadian sites are way behind when it comes to searching items and navigation... smaller sites such as Infonec are even worse. Hopefully the addition of newegg.ca will spur these sites to invest more on their web storefronts.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I find NCIX has a great comment and forum setup for products, but navigating through their site is a pain. Canada Computers has an easy to navigate site, but no review or comment section. Newegg has both.

I think online computer retailers should spend more time making their site easier to navigate and add a review/comment section for each product sold...it would really drive up traffic to their site when the site becomes a resource as well.

Unfortunately many if not most of the comments and reviews on any retailers site are next to worthless as they are either the "awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! buy this!!!!!!!!!" or "beware !!!!!!!!!! this is the sh**s!!!!!!!" Finding the reasoned and coherent ones that do exists is a chore in itself.

Does anyone know where they will be shipping from when they go live? West coast or east coast? I'm curious about shipping times/costs.

It doesn't matter - with ncix the best prices in canada become your best prices. It's just better that way : D

They will most likely ship from the west coast because that's where the majority of electronics arrive in Canada, from manufacturers in Asia. It wouldn't make sense for them to ship them to a warehouse in Ontario and then have to ship it back to BC to fulfill orders there.
