3G iPhone in Canada!

The new 3G iPhone will be released in Canada on July 11th for 200 bucks for 8gb and 300 for 16gb.

As Begolas has stated, the iPhone 3G was officially announced today at Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2008.


It is obviously quite similar to the original iPhone, aside from the following notable changes:

• Tri-band 3G support (850, 1900, 2100 MHz).
• A-GPS capability.
• Flush mounted 3.5mm headphone jack.
• Plastic back panel instead of aluminium.
• Improved battery life.
• iPhone 2.0 firmware.
• 8GB is available for $199, 16GB for $299 (with contract, obviously).
• Available in white (16GB model only).
• Supports new MobileMe service.
• 1 millimeter wider, 1 millimeter thicker, and 2 grams lighter.

It will be launching in 22 countries on July 11th, and 70 countries in total afterwards.

Also there will be some cool games like super monkey ball released as well. By the looks of the keynote they are pushing the iPhone and iPod Touch to be multi tough/accelerometer gaming systems.

You should be able to buy one outright from Rogers, but it's likely going to cost $600-700.

I would go with the contact and I most likely wont be jail breaking it. Although it is easy as a few clicks to jail brake one now. My bro has the old iPhone so I would know.
