As Begolas has stated, the
iPhone 3G was
officially announced today at
Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2008.
It is obviously quite similar to the original iPhone, aside from the following notable changes:
- Tri-band 3G support (850, 1900, 2100 MHz).
- A-GPS capability.
- Flush mounted 3.5mm headphone jack.
- Plastic back panel instead of aluminium.
- Improved battery life.
- iPhone 2.0 firmware.
- 8GB is available for $199, 16GB for $299 (with contract, obviously).
- Available in white (16GB model only).
- Supports new MobileMe service.
- 1 millimeter wider, 1 millimeter thicker, and 2 grams lighter.
It will be launching in 22 countries on July 11th, and 70 countries in total afterwards.
