Default No Additional Crysis Patches

Crytek says that there will be no more Crysis patches. The latest patch is all you get so those of you hoping for performance patches or bug fixes in the future are out of luck. In other news, the company is working on other games to sell you…that they won’t patch either.

The company understands that "this news will disappoint many of you", but notes, "we are confident that the things we are working on will be appreciated by the community". Additionally, development on the Linux dedicated server for the game has ceased.

not surprising when you create a game that no computer can run at a decent frame rate

I liked the game too. And barring something really unexpected, I'll definitely be grabbing any sequels. But they really did kind of shoot themselves in the foot with the hardware requirements. Maybe they shouldn't have bothered with the higher detail settings at all, and then introduced them later on as an optional mod patch? Then we'd all be running "High" settings with a little effort, with the option for "Very High" and "Premium".

A shame that it became so fashionable to bash, but suppose that's how public opinion works. I still maintain that there are ten times as many opinions about Crysis circulating as there are owners of the game.

I ran it with no troubles except for that annoying bug at the end that doesn't allow you to "lock on" with your gun. It is a know bug and alot of us were waiting for the patch to fix this bug. The only way around it currently is go reload a saved game further back in the level and try again. I had to replay that last level about 15 times to find a point that would not screw up. Other than that I found the game to be very enjoyable.

You sure the last patch doesn't fix that?
I've never played it before the latest patch so I wouldn't really know,
but I've played straight though to the end 3 times, and I never noticed anything wrong.

The 1.2 patch does not fix it and it only seems to happen to a small amount of the people playing it (alot of people on the forums accuse the people of having the bug of not knowing how to "lock on" which is not the case). It has to do with a combination of saving/loading during the last level that causes it (the only way I could finish the last level was to play it strait through without saving and just continuously re-spawning when I died.). It was the most annoying thing to play through the game and then get stuck in the last 5 minutes of gameplay. I didn't know it was a bug and tried re-loading the last boss about 30 times thinking I did something wrong but it turned out to be the bug. I could lock onto the first gun but never to the second gun no matter what angle I was at. When I learned about the bug I started reloading old save games and playing through to the end until I found myself inside the carrier before getting the "gun" and then I had to play strait through until I finished.
