Default nVIDIA: No price drops free DL games instead...

Hi,

This is it...sad and frustrating....it doesn't specifically say that the pricing won't be "adjusted", but it was announced at the Montreal event so it looks like Nvidia's answer to AMD....

Announcing The GeForce GTX Holiday Bundle, Featuring Assassin's Creed IV, Batman: Arkham Origins and Splinter Cell Blacklist | GeForce

Don't want any of those games or a $100-off coupon for rebate on SHIELD, me wants price drops on 760s and 770s

Huhn...only active for a month, too. Doesn't really match AMD's game bundle awesomeness. I mean the games are good games, but a month? Really?

AMD would make the bundle retroactive to people who had previously recently purchased one of the affected cards. No chance of Nvidia doing such a thing, I suppose.

If you don't like the way Nvidia is pricing their cards, then switch over to Team Red! Lots of low-cost love there! The only way Nvidia will 'get it' is if people stop buying GTX cards, and move en masse to AMD.

nVidia isnt going to play that card until they have to. Right now all that they are competing with is a rebrand that matches the performance of a GTX 770.
They dont have anything to worry about now, so they'll keep prices stable for now (depending on what is talked about today ;) hearing there might be some hardware revealed)

Give it a few months, and maybe we might see some drops in Green high end cards, depending on what AMD is able to hit back with with the 290x.

Yes, a rebrand that matches the performance of a 770 for $100 less!

This! I did. Said nope to the Titan and 780. Too expensive. Plus you get to try the new mantle, and get whatever benefits next gen is going to have because they are optimized for GCN consoles.

Meh Big Whoop. It'll be something based on a Titan. Probably a Titan will all the SMX modules enabled.

And too expensive for anyone to afford.

Everyone keeps ranting at how AMD is so good on price to performance and that Nvidia are bad and don't drop their prices... people really have short memories if they are forgetting the price the 7970 etc launched at.. and then the price the 680 etc launched at and how long it took AMD to drop their prices (by which stage the damage was done IMO)

Yes now AMD is much better price for performance but I don't think Nvidia will let their sales suffer for it.. I expect a price-drop on the current stuff thats not seen a drop with the 780Ti
They have dropped their prices to challenge AMD at every point every time they have launched a "new" product as they have need it in the last year and a half.

Not to mention how slow AMD are to fix any issues they have (CF, runt frames etc)
