Default AMD dropping APU prices

Saw this on Pcper which referenced DigiTime. Apparently "prices on the A8-5600K, FX-8320, FX-6300 and FX-4300 will be dropping in April".

AMD will be reducing APU pricing by April | PC Perspective

About time~ The APUs are stupidly priced right now. APU bundles are costing almost as much as i3 and i5 bundles. The only benefit is a better onboard video, but at the cost of everything else in performance. Even then, the onboard is still pretty weak, only capable of delivering a barely playable experience.

why are the FX chips being called APUs? I thought they needed to have integrated graphics.

The definitely come in way under i5 bundles, they actually come in cheaper than some i3 bundles, I don't know where you buy your parts from. $180 for a motherboard and CPU is tough to beat.

they might be dumb.

AMD has a few lines, FX are one line, the A series being A10-A8-A6 are their high performing APU chips, they should be calling them as such, FX6300 as example, an A10-5800k as an example, A10 is not FX chip as it is the APU, FX is not.

silly people :P

Next gen AMD FX supposed to be out this spring or summer, maybe that is why they lower the prices, to clear the stocks.
