It's good to see gaming taking place on other thing than Windows. the Shield is more than a console, it work on Android, and developers will release Linux games a plus especially with the crazy direction Microsoft is taking with Windows 8.

I think it would be nice if Streaming from the PC would not be limited to a local network. In a way ones PC could take the place of the Grid.

So, hypothetically, how many generations are we away from a single, very powerful, computer in the house that could stream image data to several such hand held devices to allow for a massive, friends only, mech stompathon? I'd guess 2 graphics card generations (maybe less if this catches on quickly, but vid card memory would suddenly become much more important), about three software generations for the shield and I really don't know about bandwidth broadcasts... though probably, if you were cabled into a router, it would be currently possible. How wrong am I?

Holy cow, I don't hate consoles but I hope all these people and companies making and trying to get into the console market don't kill PC gaming its by far my favorite platform to play on as I can control so much more

This is cool though how things are going and the technology but wow!

I also totally agree with the bandwidth statement. I wonder how long before Canada catches up!

Sorry for the necro bumping but it's official: SHIELD will cost 350$ and it'l be out in June (Same time as Ouya) It's only available through these retailers: GameStop, Newegg, Microcenter and Canada Computers. So with a price like that, who's gonna get one? :P I ain't it's the same price as a Wii U.
