Default Blizzard Says Battle.net Was Hacked

Blizzard announced Thursday afternoon that its Battle.net service has been comprimised, and there was unauthorized access to some Battle.net account information.

Might be, might not be. Kudos for pro-active disclosure though, seems as if Blizzard has learned from years of players complaining about poor communication (took them a long time to figure out a notice that the servers were down and an estimate of repair time would calm the masses) and the shellacking other companies took from not admitting they were hacked.

Thing is, even if credit card information wasn't vulnerable, Battle.net accounts now can include balances. And certain regions allow for Diablo III real-money auction house payments to be made into PayPal -- into cash, in other words. No mention of the PayPal information in that blog post by Blizzard.
