Isn't Ballmer going to deliver each paper bag personally, light it on fire, ring the doorbell and run away? That's what would happen in my ideal world.

At least most people should have an easy enough time figuring out how to function said packaging, remember those Vista boxes?

Sorry but frankly who gives a crap about how does the packaging looks... I'm much more interested how good and reliable the OS is and whether it's a worthy upgrade from 7. Personally I don't mind if it'll ship in milk cartons.

I don't care about the packaging. The Vista / 7 / Office 2007 / Office 2010 packaging was heavy and overbuilt, so I'd even go further and ask for them to just put it in a cardboard envelope or conventional DVD case with a good hologram sticker that can't be easily tampered with.
Who ever buys an operating system because they think the box looks cool? I can see it for hardware (this forum's a good example that a good colour scheme can mean the difference) or software that's placed right beside its direct competitor on a shelf. However since Linux boxed OS (SLED and RHEL) are gone, the need to be flashier isn't there anymore.

Do you like Windows 8 start menu? As for me it's so unusual.

Wow that packaging design looks very ghetto - just like Corel boxes.

Heh... I try not to use the word Corel all that much as it sends me into a rage similar to the cancellation of the avro arrow... back in the day the Federal Government of Canada had a chance to not only buy Canadian, but also to promote local high tech. For some unfathomable reason they chose to go with Office instead...........
