Default Surface to Launch With Windows 8 on October 26

Microsoft’s Surface tablets will be launched on October 26, alongside Windows 8, according to a disclosure in Microsoft’s 10-K report.

Amen, though. As much as I enjoy my Nexus 7, I could see myself using the surface to accurate take down engineering notes at school.

Bingo. IMO, the N7 sucks as anything but a media consumption device.

I want mostly if not completely Windows for the sake of having Word, Excel, and OneNote at my finger tips. Hell the damn thing would help me in the lab too.

Problem with running surface pro is going to be battery life. I would love to have a full windows os but that means using a power hungry cpu(compared to ARM). I have used a windows 7 core i5 tablet and would maybe get 3 hours out of it. That to me is a worthless piece of hardware.
